\\ Samora Pinderhughes on his new release and Black Lives Matter.

In an album that took five years to complete, featuring a star of Netflix series The Get Down and a selection of America’s finest rising musicians, Samora Pinderhughes explores police brutality, inequality, and American history. The Transformations Suite, out now, is an incredibly moving piece of work. He’s toured with Christian Scott, Jose James and is a rising force on New York’s scene. Get to know Samora and his stunning debut album in our interview.

Tuck in for new music from Nx Worries, a floating new delivery from Tall Black Guy, and tropical house from Peckham via Düsseldorf thanks to Henry Wu and Tito Wun. We select a tune from the new Sun Ra 65 track compilation from Strut Records, present a catchy bass hook from Miles Mosley and rolling piano melodies from Grégory Privat Trio, dreamy future soul from Laura Misch, and hip-hop influences from rising London acts Sumochief and Blue Lab Beats.

NEWS: From our next show onwards, expect a new music show at the end of every month, broken up with an extended interview in the fortnight between. Our new music show drops on Friday 28 October.
