Conductor Jules Buckley goes Under The Influence
Under The Influence returns, enabling us the chance to feature a prolific artist from outside the realms of jazz. We speak to British conductor, composer and arranger Jules Buckley ahead of his shows for the BBC Proms – he’ll be conducting orchestras this August with Kamasi Washington, Quincy Jones, and Jamie Cullum.
As founder of the Heritage Orchestra (Bjork, Ibiza Proms, Anna Calvi), and conductor of the Metropole Orkest (who won a Grammy for the album Sylva with Snarky Puppy), Jules’ adaptivity, from working with classical artists to grime artists, is a rarity.
We feature new music from Melbourne producer Braille Face, Apollo Brown and Skyzoo who collaborate for a new album, and UK group Dinosaur. We also dig out two African reissues to make you feel fucking good about life.
New show twice a month on a Wednesday.
Apollo Brown and Skyzoo \\ One In The Same (ft Patty Crash)
XamVolo \\ Down
Ashley Henry \\ Altruism
The Lulu’s Band \\ I Can Feel It
Dinosaur \\ Awakening
Braille Face \\ Glow
Combat! \\ Heavy Accent
